In-house Editor for Journal of Molecular Cell Biology

Journal of Molecular Cell Biology (JMCB) is an international journal published by Oxford University Press on behalf of Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Society for Cell Biology.

JMCB is recruiting a full-time in-house Editor to join the editorial team and support the daily operation of the journal.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Gather, interpret, and analyse information on JMCB publication for reports and fact sheets

• Update and/or maintain JMCB website, email contacts, and social media platform

• Attend and represent JMCB on meetings and other activities

• Assist in manuscript processing workflow

• Assist in the organising of JMCB symposium, editorial board meeting, etc.

• Assist the Editor-in-Chief/Managing Editor with other duties

Requirements:

• Master or higher-level degree in life science-related fields

• Good verbal and written skills in both English and Mandarin

• Computer skills (Windows, Office, Adobe, social media tools, etc.)

• Good communication skills and effective networker

• Highly motivated, able to take the initiative, and responsible

• Capable of travelling often and working independently

• Prior editorial experience would be a plus

Conditions of employment:

• The working location will be in Shanghai, China.

• The Editor is employed by the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
